OD&PL provide a number of programmes and resources to support colleagues to develop their research impact:
Impact Coaching is tailored coaching support for researchers looking to improve their effectiveness in delivering impact from their research. We will work with you to help you to define your potential impact, think about plans to achieve that impact and help you with the steps in the plan you are unsure about.
Building Impact Momentum is a longitudinal programme which helps researchers to define their research impact (impact beyond the academy and not academic impact) and build it into their research projects or grant applications. The programme is open to research, academic and professional support staff.
LinkedIn Learning: Policy Influencing Collection – We’ve created a collection of resources for policy influencing (both nationally within the UK and internationally) on LinkedIn Learning. Some of these resources have been written by colleagues at Leeds and some are from sources we recommend. All staff and students at the University can access LinkedIn Learning for free with their normal University login.
Introduction to engagement with research – This self-guided resource will introduce you to making research relevant to those who aren’t academics. By making your research relevant to others, you are creating opportunities for your research to have an effect (also called impact).
In collaboration with Policy Leeds and Leeds Social Sciences Institute (LSSI), we piloted a programme called ‘Kickstart your policy engagement‘ in autumn 2021. We are refining the programme based on the feedback and this will be launched in the summer term.
The Engaged Research Team on MS Teams offer a range of provision in this area and the channel is a place to bring together everyone who is involved in or interested in engagement with research.
Fast Track Impact Ltd currently offer a free online course called Impact Training for Researchers. This course will help you fast track the impact of your research, no matter what career stage or discipline you are in. It will inspire and equip you with the skills and confidence you need to make a step change in the impact of your research.
