Research Culture and Impact Awards

Our culture and impact awards celebrate the values at the heart of our University strategy’s three key themes – culture, community and impact. These are a fantastic way to recognise and celebrate all that our colleagues have achieved and the efforts that have gone into making Leeds an inclusive, collaborative and supportive community.

To recognise our changing research culture and attitudes towards impact, we are launching two award schemes this summer: the Research Culture Awards and the Engaged for Impact Awards. Both award schemes share the same ethos of collaboration: they will celebrate the contribution of everyone involved in research projects. Both complement and broaden traditional markers of success, for example grant income and output citations.

The closing date for nominations is Wednesday 1st June.

The awards will empower prizewinning teams to scale up their research culture and impact activities, while helping to drive sector-wide change. Winners and runners-up will receive funding for further activity in research culture and impact, plus a personal prize. They will also be celebrated during a special campus reception, hosted by the University’s Chancellor, Professor Dame Jane Francis, on Tuesday 19 July.
