BOOST - Career Development for Researchers

What is BOOST?

As part of our support for researcher career development, we have launched a new programme of events on all things careersCombining a mix of guest speakers, interactive workshops, self-guided resources and recorded events, we aim to equip you with the skills and confidence you need to manage your career.

Who is it for?

BOOST has a range of opportunities. Some are targeted to particular audiences or career stages, for example PGRs and Research Staff, and other sessions are available to all.

What if I’m not interested in an academic career?

That’s not a problem! Our sessions will enable you to develop your skills, confidence and preparedness for any career, academic or otherwise.

When does it run?

BOOST runs every year from September to July. There are 2 sessions each month, with additional recordings and self-guided resources for you to explore whenever you choose.

What will you cover?

We cover a broad range of topics including:

  • Professional development
  • Career planning
  • Applying for a job (both academic and non-academic)
  • Communicating your skills
  • Fellowships, grants and funding

How do I book?

All the sessions and booking details are available in the BOOST programme, and this is regularly updated as we add sessions and confirm dates so make sure you keep checking it to avoid missing out. You can also keep an eye on our @ResDevLeeds X/Twitter account. Sessions are usually available to book 3 months in advance.
